CHAFF - ON GUVENTEDDU

 

   

 

I decide to bring Riccardo to eat the mythical porchetto to cagliari but after having looked for a parking lot for about one hour we decide, tired and embittered to go homeward and to also stop also us for road for a pizza to put something under the teeth. Comes in the beautiful Chaff that we already find again enough flood of tourists and Cagliaritani arrived in the shore for the weekend and we are about there to look for a restaurant or a pizzeria that you undo there me. They are around the 22.30 and all the places that I know and where I usually go to eat they are already full or with lists of attended endless despite the time. I am a po been sorry because I cared to make beautiful figure with Riccardo and above all I would have wanted that in this occasion it tasted the prelibatezzes of my earth.
To this point we take the road for Nora to the search of a restaurant but still nothing. or they are closed because the season is not begun yet or I is really full of people.
We stop by now there really worn out in the parking lot of the restaurant hotel On Guventeddu where they finally make us arrange.
The place of around 60 covered it is very pleasant, furnished in simple way, essential but with taste, despite there is still a po of people the atmosphere it is very calm and at all chaotic.
The waiter from does her/it nice it brings us the menu and known with pleasure that is really various of dishes, he goes from the meat to the fish, from the pasta to the rice to the potato dumplings, to the cheese. in short I would not know how to say what they specifically cook because there is so much of everything for which I have not noticed one prevalence in comparison to the other.

   
 

We decide to order some mixed appetizers of fish, the risotto to the pescatora that Riccardo had never tasted, and for according to a mixed fry accompanied from of the salad, the everything accompanied by an excellent wine: The Cove.
The appetizers are excellent indeed: orciadas, burrida, salad of octopus, salad of sea. the portions are abundant but the taste is spectacular indeed: despite we had a black hunger I must say that we have very slowly eaten really to taste that marvelous dishes.
Also the first one has overcome indeed our expectations: risotto to the tooth and very savory of almost creamy consistence, seasoned by a tide of fruits of sea and fish of various type, portions this time exaggerated. Riccardo from good lombardo lover of the risotto is not able that the compliments to do to the cook and luckily the I stop to make the encore considering that we must also eat the second. We reach the fry that we are full and satisfied but we don't withstand at least to taste him/it and as the other dishes we don't have that to congratulate.
We reach the dessert but we are really saturated for which correct a sherbet and a myrtle to digest.
We go away from the place that by now they are the 24.45, happy and satisfied because we have eaten well indeed without making endless file. Ten and praise also as it regards the reception: the waiter that has served us to the table has been cordial from the beginning and very nice and polite... and the owner when have asked him if could make a critique on frying pans has been the first one to tell me of him without asking me first the price (obviously the critiques are free!!!). Very moderate expense for the quality and for the quantity of the portions. Surely will return!

 

 

The Cove 2005 Vermentinos DOC Sella&Mosca
Vine Vermentino, picked grapes to late September, in the vineyards of the Saddle & Moscow. Light Spremitura, fermentation to low temperature. Clear pale yellow yellow color. Very intense perfume. Light taste, extended in the yielded softness.
