VERMENTINO

 
 

Vermentino, Pigato, Favorite, Formentino.

Historical signs: Uncertain they are his/her origins. It would seem both is introduced from Spain in the Corsica, around 1300, and subsequently spread him in Liguria and in Sardinia, especially in the northern part.

Characteristic ampelografiche: middle-great leaf, pentagonal, pentalobata - middle-great, cylindrical or pyramidal cluster, middly spargolo - middle-great grape, spherical with pruinose peel of color yellow-ambrato.

The wine's characteristics: it draws a wine from the pale yellow yellow color with reflexes verdolini, from the bitterish taste slightly. You/he/she can be used over that for the production of dry and firm wines, also for the typologies sweet liquoroso and foamy

Besides composing the DOCG Vermentino of Gallura, it reenters in numerous DOC as: Vermentino of Sardinia, Five Earths, Necks of Luni, Hills of Levanto, Gulf of the Tigullio, Val Polcevera, Hills Lucchesi, Montecarlo, Montecucco, Bolgheri, Candia of the Necks Apuani, Capalbio, Alghero
