THE LAW IS THE WINE

Italy as the other states members of the European union, have the power to legislate in food subject with the purpose to avoid frauds, to safeguard the health of the citizens to protect the consumer under the aspect of the quality.
As it regards the normative community which direct him to the states members and to the circulating citizens, you/they can be reassumed this way:
- rules, groups of norms in specific subjects (market vitivinicolo, wines of quality in determined regions, etichettatura,...) what they concern particularly:
- the variety of the grapevines, the cultivated surfaces, the treatments enologici (cuts, practices, etc.), rules of inside and external market, immission to the consumption, control's organisms, prohibitions;
- the disciplinary one of production (zone of production, type of vine, practical viticole and methods of vinificazione,...), the allowed wordings (VQPRD, VLQPRD, VFQPRD, VSQPRD,...), the national wordings (es: for Italy à DOC and DOCG), the authorization to denominate a wine with the region of origin (es: RESENTMENT, BRINGS, CHAMPAGNE,...).
- directives, ties on the results leaving the competences on forms and a halves;
- decisions, binding only for the designate recipients.
Additionally to the community dispositions Italy possesses his "disciplinary of production" made of laws, rules, uses that it is the element that the categories characterize IGT, DOC and DOCG: it deals with a whole qualitative ties to which must be concerned us in the production of a wine (es: zone of production, vines, made for hectare, title least alcolometrico, authorized practices, etc.).
The disciplinary one first of all foresees her/it "denomination of origin" for which he intends the geographical name of a zone viticola particularly vocata (es.: Frascati, Chianti, Sweet). You/they can bring the indication of the vine, they are regulated by the disciplinary one of production, in there is a possible the sottozona (common, fraction, farm, farm, vineyard) that constitutes best quality and more rigorous rules.
From the law n°164s derive the following classifications and definitions instead:
- VDT, Table Wine, produced out of the disciplinary ones with the respect of least rules, any indication of the vine, obligatory the mention of the white or red color. ). The product in matter is rather simple, you/he/she can be the result of an uvaggio or of a cut, with grapes or wines coming from different geographical zones, from different variety and from different vintages. This doesn't mean for strength a smaller quality, simply it deals with wines with less productive ties;
- IGT, Typical Geographical Indication, for which he intends the geographical name of a zone used for designating the product that derives of it (es.: Piedmont, Sicily). These wines originate for at least him 85% from the geographical zone of which you/they bring the name, can bring the indication of the vine and the year, and they are regulated by the really disciplinary one of production (territory, vines, made for hectare, title least alcolometrico, authorized practices, etc.);
- VQPRD, Wine of Quality Produced in Determined Region, that can subsequently be characterized as
or VLQPRD, Wine Liquoroso of Quality Produced in Determined Region
or VSQPRD, Foamy Wine of Quality Produced in Determined Region
or VFQPRD, Fizzy Wine of Quality Produced in Determined Region

The wines VQPRD is divided in the traditional denominations
? DOC, Denomination of Checked Origin reads her it foresees the constant control for the DOCs, in substance the whole productive (from the vineyard up to the bottle) cycle must be conforming to how much established by the disciplinary one of production (zone of production, vines, made for hectare, title least alcolometrico, dry extract, total acidity, authorized practices, etc.).
The wines to Doc are also checked under the qualitative profile: before the marketing you/they are obligatorily submitted to a chemical analysis and organolettica from "Committee of Tasting", special organisms founded near the Chambers of Commerce, to verify that the requisite subsist prescribed by the protocol of production;
? DOCG, Denomination of Checked Origin and Guaranteed The wines to DOCG they are produced that you/they are submitted to more severe rules in comparison to the wines to DOC, and you/they have had a past than at least five years in this last category. Before their marketing you/they must undergo to two controls: that chemical / organolettico in the phase of production is analogous to that of the Docs, while that organolettico is effected before the imbottigliamento. The law n°164 fixes the maximum ability of the bottles in commerce to 5 liters. The peculiarity of every single bottle is the countersign of State the classical pink or green wrapper released from the Italian Republic. The wrappers are assigned to the authorized bottlers in base to the hectoliters of wine that come indeed products.
THE LABEL
As for the food the label constitutes the paper of identity of the wine, with which the consumer can know better the product that is served him. Brought information must be therefore clear, verifiable and above all complete.
The news to be brought on the label is numerous and their number grows as soon as him it climbs quality. Additionally to the label to have information on the served wine they are used the controetichetta, the capsule, the collarino, the cork (provided that visible through the glass), the wrappers.
On the containers or on the labels of the products introduced to the consumption on the national market, you/he/she must also show up an invitation not to disperse the containers in the environment after the use.
